COVID-19 Update / new variant and safety measures at the venue.

Spain has forbidden flights from some countries of the South of Africa due to the new variant of the COVID-19 virus. Please check, there are countries with special restrictions (shown in grey in the map). Visitors from countries in red colour need proof of vaccination or a negative test:

The safety rules imposed by the venue and the government of Spain must be followed at all times during the conference. Masks must be used indoors. All food and beverages will be served seated and with the appropriate social distancing. You will be measured your temperature before entering the venue.

Complimentary COVID-19 tests will be offered at the venue to all attendees that need them to return to their countries, during the three conference days.

Welcome to IEEE GLOBECOM 2021!


The 2021 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) will be held in Madrid, Spain, from 7 -11 December 2021. Themed “Connecting Cultures around the Globe,” this flagship conference of the IEEE Communications Society will feature a comprehensive high-quality technical program including 12 symposia, selected areas in communications track and a variety of tutorials and workshops. IEEE GLOBECOM 2021 will also include an attractive Industry program aimed at practitioners, with keynotes and panels from prominent research, industry and government leaders, business and industry panels, and vendor exhibits.

COVID-19 Update / Hybrid Conference Format:
We are very happy to welcome you all in Madrid and are confident that the situation is improving regarding the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, in view of the possible travel restrictions, the conference will be in the form of a hybrid conference with as many authors and participants as possible attending the conference in Madrid in person, and others attending remotely. The technical program will include physical sessions with on-site presentations and virtual (on-line) sessions for remote participants.
