IFEMA MADRID is the Trade Fair Institution of Madrid. Its 30-year experience of staging trade fairs has made it the most important of its kind in Spain and one of the leaders in Europe. Its activities center on the staging of commercial events representative of the different industries and the managing of its space and infrastructure for every type of activity: from trade fairs organized by third parties to conventions, congresses and any type of meeting or event.
Its principal aims are to generate wealth and development for the Madrid Region and project the image of Madrid within and beyond our borders.
IFEMA MADRID plays host annually to over 80 highly specialized events which hold an important position in the international trade fair calendar. The net area occupied by all its events is 15 million sq. ft., in which 42,000 companies and 4.5 million visitors participate. Its premises, boasting 2 million sq. ft. of exhibiting space, 12 Halls and 3 Convention and Congress Centers, make IFEMA MADRID one of the most efficient settings for generating business opportunities. Among the facilities IFEMA MADRID are a Business Centre; a Press Club; 14,000 parking spaces; a kids' room; financial and service organizations, and almost a hundred meeting rooms, at which IFEMA MADRID provides its exhibitors and visitors with all the equipment, services and spaces they need to optimize business.
North convention center
The spaces offered by IFEMA MADRID for organizing every type of event are provided by its Convention and Congress Centers which are situated at the south and north entrances, together with its own halls and their rooms.
The versatility of these spaces allows the hosting of anything from conventions, congresses and product launches to conferences, symposiums, meetings, gala dinners or sports events among others.
For GLOBECOM 2021, the North Convention Center has been selected for the exhibition, keynotes and technical sessions. Located in the building at the North Entrance and with an area of 100,000 sq. ft., the North Convention Centre possesses 20 rooms in total,18 of which are on the first floor. It is reached through a great entrance hall filled with natural light, whose size makes it the ideal space for exhibitions of up to 5,000 sq. ft. net or for providing catering services during the event.
Rooms N101 to N106 are multi-purpose as they have separating panels, allowing the hosting of events from 100 to 1,800 people. Joined together, N103 and N104 comprise the North Auditorium, which holds 1,100 people. The North Auditorium’s main characteristic is its retractable seating, which allows it to become either an auditorium or an open space according to the client’s requirements. The remaining 12 rooms (N107 to N118), with capacities from 70 to 200 people, may be paired to adapt better to the needs of the event. On the second floor, the Colón and Neptuno rooms boast a large open-air terrace.
The North Convention Center is fully equipped to carry out different commercial activities. Exhibitions which are complementary to the conference-related activities, product presentations, fairs or cultural exhibitions. There is plenty of room to accommodate several interactive sessions, accessible for viewing throughout the day.
